Question No-1 Which crops are more profitable for rainfed un bonded uplands in Kharif season ?

Answer - Arhar, Mung, Biri, Cowpea, Maiza, Groundndut, Ragi, Niger as as pure crop and mixed cropping like Arhar + Groundnut,Arhar + Mung/Biri.

Question No-2 What are the crop to be taken up under rainfed uplands ?

Answer - Jute in upland loamy soil and cotton in upland well drained heavy soils.

Question No-3 Which varieties of paddy are more suitable under rainfed uplands ?

Answer - Highyeilding varieties maturing within 110 days like Heera, Sneha, Pathara, Bandana, Kalinga III,Parijat, Arnapurna, Ghanteswari, Khandagiri, Nilagiri etc.to be direct sown in lines.

Question No-4 Which varieties of paddy are more suitable for rainfed medium land ?

Answer - High yielding paddy varieties maturing within 135 days like Lalat, MTU-1001, Sworna etc.

Question No-5 Which varieties of paddy are more suitable for rainfed low lands. ?

Answer - Highyeilding paddy varieties maturing within 150 days like  Moti, Kanchana, Gouri,    Padmini, Bhaja, Samanta, Meher etc.

Question No-6 How much plant population will be maintained in transplanted paddy ?

Answer - 70 hills/m2 for varieties maturing within 110 days. 50hills/m2 for varieties maturing within 135 days. 35 hills/m2 for varieties maturing within 155 days.

Question No-7 Which is the cheapest source of nitrogenous fertilizer ?

Answer - Urea fertilizer is the cheapest among all types.

Question No-8 In acid soils which type of phosphate fertilizer is helpful ?

Answer - Rock phosphate should be applied one month before sowing or 50% Rock phosphate + 50% single super phosphate.

Question No-9 At which time phosphate fertilizer will be applied ?

Answer - Only basal application at the time of final ploughing.

Question No-10 What are the type of Biofertilisers and for which crop these can be applied ?

Answer - Type of Biofertilisers :-

  • Azotobactor for all non-paddy crops.
  • Azospirillum for wet land paddy crop.
  • Rhizobium for pulses and Groundnur .
  • P.S.M. for all crops.
  • Patash soluslising micro-organisim for all crops.

Answer - Before 15 days of harvesting of paddy,field pea,Gram,Biri,Linseal can be sown as paira crop.

Question No-12 Which crops can be sown in river belt areas during pre-Rabi season ?

Answer - Groundnut, Mustard, Mung, Biri can be sown as pre-Rabi crops in river belt areas.

Question No-13 Which are the profitable low duty irrigated crops in Rabi season. ?

Answer - Mustard, Sunflower, Pulses, Wheat etc.are low duty irrigated crops.

Answer - Phosphatic fertilizer is more essential in addition to Rhizobium culture for growing pulse crop.

Answer - Apply gypsum @ 250 kg/hec.close to the bas of the plant at 20-25 days after sowing in addition to chemical fertiliser as basal.

Answer - By application of organic manure and recycling of crops residues.

Question No-19 What is fertilizer dose of high yeilding paddy ?

Answer - 24:12:12 kgs of N.P.K/Ac for short duration.

             32:16:16 kgs of N.P.K/AC for medium and late duration high yielding paddy.

Question No-20 When nitrogen fertilizer will be top dress in wheat crop ?

Answer - 18 days after germination of wheat crop or 3 to 4 leaf stage.

Question No-21 How the pest infection will be managed without application of pesticides ?

Answer - Through I.P.M. approach such as cultural,mechanical and Biological methods.

Question No-5 What is Drip irrigation system ?

Answer-   This is a modern system of irrigation which ensures controlled supply of water directly to the root zone of the plants through a net work of main lines, sub-mains and laterals with emission points spaced along their length. It makes the best utilization of the water where its availability is scarce and is highly beneficial for fruit crops.

Question No-6 What are the advantages of drip irrigation system ?

Answer-

i)A drip irrigation system helps maintain the temperature and humidity of the soil at a constant level, there by  ensuring minimum percolation loss.                                      

ii)It offers uniform irrigation even on undulating terrain while successfully handling problematic soils

iii) It ensures lower plant stress that leads to better harvest both in quality and quantity.
